your timber frame house
This site is dedicated to black and white houses in all their variety and beauty. We want it to grow into a resource base on black and white buildings in the British Isles.
Please feel free to send us your black and white house pictures. We will include them unless there is a very valid reason not to in which case we would let you know. The best way is to make the picture file as small as possible by setting it to have a print size of no more than 5 inches wide [360point] and a resolution of 72dpi. This ensures visitors will not have to wait minutes for the pages to load or slideshows to run smoothly. If you want to upload more than one picture, a small charge could give you a page of your own on which we will place any photographs of your house you wish. Otherwise, the pages will contain mixed pictures each with a caption which can contain anything you like and even your email address if you wish. No advertising though, if you wish to advertise your house or anything else, you must pay a small annual charge to have your own page linked from the main page and all others. Details on request.
Once posted on the site, you agree we may use the graphic file as we see fit, while you still retain copyright on the photograph. As graphics can be copied by anyone accessing a site, it is out of our control if they decide to copy them. We post a copyright notice on the site to dissuade them, but cannot be held responsible if anyone ignores this. As the pictures are not supplied or displayed at high resolution, they will not be fit for commercial uses. Any requests for use of high-res versions will be forwarded on to respective copyright holders. Supply your photograph at 72dpi resolution at max 5 inches wide.
Click below to contact us, and just attach your picture to an email with the details you wish to be included with it. Please name jpg file appropriately as it's easy to lose pics which are not explicitly named. 'Front view of house' would, for instance, not be a good idea. If you have a collection of photographs of one village or town, we will create a slideshow the same as the existing slideshows.
